My first ever swap I did with the lovely Minta aka mintac. She was so genorous to send me so many extra goodies and some candy too. I love american candy! ;)

The latest swap I recieved a week ago was with the oh so lovely Emily K. aka wrackmybrain. She went way over board with all the extra goodies she send me!!! And I love every single one of them!!! :)

My first two Frankens...

Hey Sweethearts!

I wanted to share my very first two Frankens with you today!
I thought they came out pretty well.

Here's what they look like:

They are called Buttered Popcorn (left) and Paparazzi (right)

And here they are swatched:

Buttered Popcorn comes out a little litghter on the picture then it is. The consistency is a little thick, so it kinda hard to apply, but it works anyways. These are 3 coats with topcoat.
Paparazzi is a little sheer, these are also 3 coats with topcoat.

Hope you liked my little Nail Polish Experiment.
Have you ever mixed some Frankens on your own?

Spring & Summer Nail Trends 2011

Hey Sweethearts!

Long time, no blog...

I just moved and don't have a proper internet connection yet, so I'm not really into blogging right now. I tried to upload pictures, but it took me forever, so no pics included here.
But to show you that I am still alive I wanted to let you know about my personal spring & summer nail polish trends for 2011!!!
So let's get started:

light, almost white colors: I don't like to wear straight white on my nails, cause I always have the feeling I put TipEx on. But I am really digging those lighter colors, that have a hint of purple, pink or grey in them. Right now I am wearing MAC Frayed to Order which is a matte white with a slightly fushia shimmer. Such a unique color!
Others in that color-family I like are Orly Pure Porcelain and Essence Wanna Kiss?.

greens: Mostly I am wearing "dirty" greens which have a hint of grey or brown in them, but I for spring and summer I like all kind of shades. My favorites here are OPI Jade is the new Black, which is a dark grass green, ANNY Wicked, a greyed out mint and Essence A Hint of Mint from the Blossoms etc. Collection, which is a light pastel green with green shimmer.

greys: In any kind of shade. Although it is a "fall-color" for most of you, I like to wear it all over spring. My favourite is Catrice London's Weather Forecast.

orange: Bright oranges, not the peachy kind which are popping up everywhere now. My favorite here is Essie Vermillionaire which came out last year in summer. A really bright, almost neon orange. Another one, that is a bit more muted and wearable is China Glaze Life Preserver from their Anchors Away collection.

So these are just my personal trends. I know there are alot of other coming up, but that's what I like.

What are your nail trends for spring & summer?

major haul (drugstore, ebay, nail polish,...)

Hey Sweethearts!

Coming to you with a major haul today! Well this is not from only 1 shopping trip, this is the stuff I bought over a couple of weeks time. I bought them in the drugstore and on ebay. Oh and be prepared, there are more hauls coming up, cause I have some more orders from ebay and some other online stores coming in...

So let's get started:

Here's what I got from the drugstore yesterday and what cam in from ebay.

I actually bought the Garnier 2 in 1 Roll-On two days ago in th wrong shade, which was way to dark for me. So I gave that one to my mom and got another one in light/medium for myself. it was 8.45 €.

The Balea shower gel in Sparkling Grapefruit was only 0.65 € and it smells like a delicious lemonade. :)

The double-ended eyeshadow brush and the loose eyeshadow are from the new P2 summer limited edition called Sun City which will remain in stores during the whole summer. The brush was 3.49 € und the pigment about 2,95 €.

The Etude House Peach Tea cleansing Foam I ordered on ebay. it was about 3,50 $.

The Essence 50s Fever blush I also found on ebay. It's from a very old collection from Essence and I wanted it for a long time.

I was looking for this Essence Better than Gel Nails set for the longest time and yetserday I finally found it. It comes with a Base & Top Sealer, Nail Glue, white Nail Tips, a special nailphile and Nail Tip Glue. It was 9,95 €.

I would do a review on this one, but I am not really sure if I wanna use it. The tips are really really small and they don't really fit my nails. But I've heard that Fingr's are coming out with nearly the same nail-system but with different size Tips. Maybe I'll look for those first.

So and here's allllllllllll the nail polish I got, which was quite a bit.
The first row are: Essie Vermillionaire, Essie Hot Cocoa, Essie Angora Cardi, Essie Coat Azure and a backup of my Misslyn 60 Sec. Top Dry

Second Row: Essence Blossoms Bloom-A-Loom, Essence Blossoms My Yellow Fellow, Essence Blossoms Forget-Me-Not, Essence Blossoms I Like, Essence Color&Go Mellow Yellow & Essence Multi Dimension Wanna Kiss?

The Essence Blossoms polishes are limited edition and were 1,75 € each. The Color&Go one is 1,25 € and the Multi Dimension is 1,75 €. The Misslyn Top Coat was on clearance for 4 € but when I checked my recipt it actually said 3,50 €. So that was even better. :)
The Essie polishes were all 3,99 $ on ebay.

So that was my "small" haul for today. Hope you liked it. What have you been shopping for lately?

NOTD: China Glaze Life Preserver & possible Dupe

Hey Sweethearts!

Coming to you with a NOTD. This time it's China Glaze Life Preserver. A coral-red creme. This was 2 coats with topcoat in natural light without flash.

And when I went to the drugstore last week, I picked up a polish from Manhattan, which looked really familiar to me, but I liked the color so I had to pick it up anyways. ;D
At home I went through my stash and stumbled over the China Glaze. They look pretty identical, don't they?

left: Manhattan Collection No. 34U
right: CG Life Preserver

I swatched them both, and on the swatch you can see that the Manhattan is a bit darker and has more red in it. But they are really similar anyways and definately in the same color family.

Hey Sweethearts!

It's a pale cream pink. Perfect for spring!

P2 is a german drugstore brand known for it's cheap nail polishes that are great quality!

How to fill a Z-Palette...

Hey Sweethearts!

Guess what arrived today? My very first Z-Palette! So excited.... Yay!!!
I decided to get one, cause I wanted to get rid of those ugly-ass containers of MNY eyeshadows. See, that's how they look like:

Maybe there is somebody out there who likes this packaging, I think it's really tacky and it kinda looks like Kids Make-Up. Although the quality of the eyeshadows is quite good for a drugstore shadow.
So here's what I did to make them look more "classy":

Step 1 was to remove the sticker on the back of the container (don't throw it away, cause you'll use it again later). I obviously didn't take a picture of that.
Than I took a pointed metal-stick (you can use a thin knife, a needle or a pin for it) and stuck it right in the middle of the container. There is a little round area you'll see when you've removed the sticker, which is a little bit thinner than the rest of the container.

Step 2 is to push the pan of the eyeshadow gently out of the container. I kept the lid closed, so the eyeshadow won't fall down while pushing. If the pan doesn't unstick from the container right away, you can use a lighter to soften the glue by holding it under the plastic.
That's how it looks like when you removed the pan:

Step 3 is to remove the remaining glue, by peeling it of.
After that you stick the little bagde with the name (or color-number) on the back of the pan.

Step 4 means you're almost finished.
You just have to put the pan in the Z-Palette and enjoy the finished results. ;)

Here's the finished product:

I depotted 3 eyeshadows yet, cause I don't have more of MNY. But I am really looking forward to their new collection coming out in may I guess, where they'll release 5 limited edition shadows that all look great. :)

Hope you liked my little "tutorial".

So that's it for now...
